CAREFREE – The Sonoran Arts League Gallery is celebrating Arizona with a new show, “Everything State 48,” the League’s first online show that is coupled with a live exhibit in the spacious gallery located at 7275 E. Easy St., Suite A104 in Carefree (across from the Carefree post office).

The juried show runs through July 8 and features more than 100 original art creations that are inspired by Arizona’s history or present-day life in “State 48.” The show includes a variety of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, glass, fiber, jewelry, photography, and mixed media with subject matters ranging from bold sunsets and serene Arizona landscapes to colorful characters and whimsical creatures.

“All of the artists who showcase their work at our gallery are Sonoran Arts League members,” said painter Linda Lindus, the League’s Gallery Committee Chair. “We rotate our shows every two months, and now that we have the capability to share them online, we hope to reach art enthusiasts throughout the world.”

The Sonoran Arts League Gallery opened in Carefree in January 2023 with the primary goal of helping League members promote their art.

“Many people don’t realize the Sonoran Arts League is one of the oldest and largest arts leagues in Arizona. We have more than 600 members throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area,” she said.
