Hey Creekers,
I need your help! I have always been a huge supporter of trails in the Town of Cave Creek. While on Council I supported the trails plan in the General Plan that was adopted by the citizens in 2021. I have also been involved in the construction and maintenance of some of the trails in town. Trails allow Creekers to walk or ride their horse or bike to the town core or visit friends across town. Over the years the town has been granted trail easements from property owners to help complete the trails plan. One such easement that is being offered to the town (at no cost) would extend the trail along Morning Star west across the creek. Eventually, when more easements are granted, this trail would connect with Spur Cross Conservation area and the Cave Creek Regional Park.
Unfortunately there is a small, but very vocal, group of folks that do not want this trail to be completed. They believe that if a public trail goes in then a public road is sure to follow. This is 100% false. A trail easement is for non-motorized use only. This trail is not on their property but they are opposed to the idea of fellow Creekers walking or riding in their neighborhood.
Please help me stop these misguided folks from destroying our trail system. Please send an email to the town council asking them to support the Cave Creek General Plan and accept the Morning Star trail easement. Do it! Do it now!! We need the council to know that the majority of Creekers support the trails as shown in the General Plan.
