The Desert Foothills Library and the Sonoran Arts League are proud to present a retrospective exhibition for Pat Cain and Linda Budge. The show will be on view at the Library until May 23rd. The League has been presenting exceptional juried artwork at the library for over a decade, hoping to bring pleasure and art education. We are indeed a community filled with talented artists creating exciting art.
Growing up in Ohio, Pat Cain pursued her passion for art by attending Bowling Green State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in art education. She continued her educational journey by obtaining a master’s degree in studio art from Eastern Michigan University while teaching art in the state. Her artistic contributions have earned placements in numerous public and private collections.
Pat chooses to do non-representational painting, coming from within and being influenced by her life experiences. She does not create an obvious message but allows the viewer to bring their own. Painting brings her joy, and she feels renewed each time she creates something new and visually exciting.
Linda Budge, a wildlife artist for over fifty years, is known for her realistic paintings of North American big game animals as well as southwestern wildlife, burros, and portraits of dogs. This award-winning artist has done prints for Ducks Unlimited, invited to create the first stamp and print for the Wyoming Wildlife Federation and has a painting hung in the Reagan Presidential Library.
Linda cannot imagine doing a painting without an animal of some sort. She says; “Having spent a lifetime of drawing and painting, I feel quite comfortable following my imagination into a world of fantasy ~ inside my books written about animals that wear clothes, walk upright and sit on chairs to drink tea.” See her new books at the library!
We hope you will see this great show of non-representational and traditional work by two outstanding artists! Always remember You Gotta Have Art!
