Cave Creek Rodeo Days Parade Grand Marshall: Dan Piacquadio

“I am extremely excited and honored to be the Grand Marshall for the Cave Creek Rodeo Day’s Parade. The Rodeo and parade have always been an important part of our community and Harold’s. For over 37 years of being part of Harold’s we have always supported the Rodeo and been part of the parade. I have been proud to be part of the rodeo as a volunteer or served on the Board of directors off and on for over 20 years. My wife and kids are overly excited that I was selected to be Grand Marshall and cannot wait to be part of the parade.

When my Dad purchased Harold’s back in 1987 our grand opening weekend was Rodeo weekend. At 18 years of age and from Pittsburgh I remember it like yesterday. It was our first Parade, and I was attending ASU and my Dad needed help and a fry cook in the kitchen for Rodeo weekend. It was an impressive experience. I remember the Parade showed off our town’s western heritage and highlighted our all-American values. Horses were everywhere including in the bar. (Today that is unfortunately a liability). Boy, were we busy. It was and is today a great tradition for the Town of Cave Creek.

The Rodeo and Parade brings thousands of Creekers, Arizonians, and other tourists from all over the United States, and the world into our Town. Back in the 80’s and 90’s, the parade was the last busy day before the busy season ended. The Rodeo and Parade helped keep many small businesses open through the summer during those lean years.

Harold’s and I will always support the Rodeo and the Parade because it is such an important part of our community.”

Cave Creek Rodeo Days Parade Road Closure March 16

We would like to bring to your attention an upcoming event that may impact your daily operations. On March 16th, the annual Cave Creek Rodeo Days Parade will take place, starting at 9:00 am.

To facilitate the smooth execution of the event, the Southern portion of Cave Creek Road (North/East Bound) will be closed from approximately East Blue Ridge Road (or before) to North Vermeersch (or shortly farther). The road closure is estimated to be in effect from around 6:30 am until approximately 11:30 am.

During this time, traffic will be rerouted to the two north lanes, resulting in heavy congestion. We strongly recommend that you consider postponing deliveries scheduled during this period and inform your customers and/or clientele about the potential for long traffic delays.

Pleased be advised that for the safety of our parade entries, once the Parade is in motion at 9:00 am, there will be no crossing over the Parade Route Lanes. We ask that you plan accordingly.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we celebrate this time honored community tradition.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to your continued support in making the Cave Creek Rodeo Days Parade an annual success.
