Cactus Shadows boys hoops underway

The Cactus Shadows Boys Basketball season has just tipped for the 23-24 school year. The varsity Falcons look to make it back to the state playoffs and are geared up for a successful season. Coach Washut starts his 7th year with the Falcons after becoming the all time wins leader in program history last season. He will rely upon a key group of seniors, some returnees, and fresh faces. The Falcons have participated in the post season 6 of the last 7 seasons and feel they have a team that can make some noise in the tournament.

The five falcon seniors are Connor Oliver, Eric Mullenmeister, Charles Allen, Patrick Geary, and Adnan Ahmetovic.
Key underclassmen returnees are Carter Brown, Dane Milinovich, and Trey Chemin.
The new faces including Eric Rubin and freshman Myles Godfrey.

Along with the new season, the Falcons will also break in a brand new floor with redesigned logos. The new Nest will be rocking this year so make sure you check out the schedule and attend some home games. Schedules and rankings can be found at :

The Falcons kicked off the year with their annual volunteer event at light of the desert church. Players from both the Boys and Girls Varsity & JV teams helped pack and load boxes stuffed with toys, toiletries, and items for the less fortunate.

The hoops season began the week of Thanksgiving as the Varsity Falcons finished runners up in the Beyond Ball Thanksgiving Tournament with a 1 point overtime loss to the defending 6a state Champs.
Make sure to pack the Nest for the annual Silent Night game on Wednesday Dec 13th!

It’s also youth night where any CCUSD elementary or middle school student gets in free with a paid adult.

Come check out the new floor, the exciting action in the Nest, and root your home town Falcons on to Victory!

Go Falcons!
