What few have talked about is purchasing a ladder truck for Carefree Fire. We have a four story hotel in town, which necessitates this. A ladder truck usually runs about $2,000,000. (It would have been a nice idea to encourage the hotel to pitch in monetarily.)
A ladder truck is not used everyday. Regular use is not recommended as it will break down the truck. The other fire departments who have purchased one are Queen Creek and Scottsdale. Phoenix has several as well as ladder tenders.
Along with these purchases, the town of Carefree needs to have an apparatus replacement plan.
