Dear Parents, Community and CCUSD Staff,
With the
school closure extended through the end of the school year, our CCUSD
teachers, principals and district staff have been working in
preparation to provide engaging, remote learning opportunities for
our students. Thank you for your patience and support as we worked
through spring break to ensure we can continue the high quality
education you expect for your children. In addition, we are preparing
our teaching staff with appropriate professional development as they
plan to roll out instruction on April 2nd.
Teachers have
been connecting to their students and are excited to re-engage and
interact with them. We acknowledge that monitoring remote learning
may add an additional burden on families and we are hoping to
mitigate that concern by delivering the most essential learning in
flexible formats. Our teachers, principals and Teaching and Learning
staff are committed to designing high quality virtual classes for our
CCUSD students as we continue to encourage our mission, Inspire
Excellence, in every learner. As we move forward in our “New
Normal” together, please note the following:
- Teachers began re-engaging with students immediately after spring break, if not before.
- Mar. 30-April 1 were teacher professional development days to learn more about virtual classrooms and to prepare initial lessons for student remote access; beginning on April 2, teachers will be reaching out directly to students and parents to communicate about educational activities that are specific to a subject or class/course.
- Families who have technology needs should fill out the survey sent to all parents or contact your school principal.
- Families who are in need of food assistance, please contact our Child Nutrition Director at [email protected].
- Students needing social/emotional support, please contact your school counselor or principal.
