CAREFREE/CAVE CREEK/N. SCOTTSDALE – The Foothills Caring Corps’ 16th Annual Taste of Foothills fundraiser slated for March 26th at Our Lady of Joy parish center in Carefree has been removed from the non-profit organization’s calendar until further notice due to the declaration of a national emergency related to the COVID-19 virus.
“Our greatest concern is with the health and welfare of our Neighbors and those who so generously support us,” said Debbra Determan, executive director. “We will continue to evaluate the situation, and keep the public up-to-date as we know more.”
The annual Taste of Foothills Fundraiser provides key funding for the mobility and transportation services for “neighbors” who need rides to medical and other day-to-day appointments and events. The Caring Corps, the only transportation program in the far North Valley, needs a smaller vehicle with a wheelchair lift to meet the growing need to transport seniors.
“It is with regret for the circumstances which require us to remove the event from our calendar until further notice,” Determan said.
Donors who traditionally participate in the annual event are encouraged to connect with Determan to plan the next steps for their charitable giving efforts upon which the organization relies. Participating sponsors are encouraged to contact the non-profit agency for more information. Ticketholders may request a refund, or request a charitable gift donation receipt.
