Daisy Mountain Fire & Medical (DMFM) participated in a large multi-jurisdictional exercise recently. The event which has been in the planning for months, was designed to simulate a mass casualty incident which included fire agencies, law enforcement and HonorHealth hospitals across the Valley. DMFM staff participated in shared roles for this simulation. CERT volunteers played the victims, complete with moulage makeup and an ambulance ride to one of the five participating hospitals. This surprise surge of patients, more than 100 in all, also helped the hospitals confirm the effectiveness of their emergency response plan.
