Cave Creek Unified School District is pleased to announce that Shanon Quinn, RD, Director of Child Nutrition, was named ASU’s Outstanding Preceptor of the Year.
Shanon teaches, instructs and helps ASU dietetic interns navigate the world of child nutrition/food service throughout the school year.
Shanon came to CCUSD in 2011. She has a Bachelor of Science with specialization in Dietetics from the University of Arizona (she majored in nutrition and chemistry). She is a graduate of Shadow Mountain High School and is certified with the American Dietetic Association.
Shanon is an active member of the School Nutrition Association, a member of the CCUSD Recognition Committee, a Girl Scout leader and an avid scrap booker.
Shanon and her husband Greg (who is CCUSD’s resident weather expert and the advisor for the Weather Club at Lone Mountain Elementary School) have two daughters in CCUSD who are active in athletics.
Superintendent Burdick said, “Shanon is a quiet force in CCUSD for all things related to good nutrition and healthy eating. We are lucky to have her leadership in our district.”
