These are facts that I have researched. Planned Parenthood gets about 40% of its budget ($528 mill) from the government, which comes from Medicaid and Title X. Their annual revenue is $1.3 billion. Planned Parenthood cannot spend taxpayer money on abortions. That means they have 60% of their budget ($772 mill) to spend on abortions. They state that abortions are 3% of their services. From their 2016 independent expenditures, they spent $5,200,000 for Democrats and $9,400,000 against Republicans or $14 million. If they can spend that much on politics, why don’t they figure out a way to divest from abortions in Planned Parenthood and set up a separate entity to handle them. They could afford to transport any women inconvenienced by transportation issues with volunteers or Uber. It would be a win-win.
My conclusions:
We don’t have to close down Planned Parenthood with all the needed services they offer because women, in need, would have an alternative. Why would Planned Parenthood not embrace this opportunity? Is it about health or politics?
