PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks have added the Cox Connects VR Bullpen at Chase Field that will take fans on a virtual reality journey through the eyes of a Major League Baseball player. The D-backs and Cox Communications will develop exclusive VR content for fans to enjoy unique baseball perspectives, such as the view catching or hitting off a Major League pitcher, fielding ground balls, catching fly balls or unique behind-the-scenes access – all perspectives most fans will never get to experience.
The Cox Connects VR Bullpen will be located along the main concourse in center field and will feature a branded area that showcases the Virtual Reality experience. Fans will be able to view content using HTC VIVE Virtual Reality headsets while other fans will be able to see what they are experiencing through TV displays in the space. The lounge-like space will be lined with high top tables for fans to enjoy as well as a phone charging kiosk.
The unique virtual reality content was captured and produced by the downtown Phoenix office of R&R Partners and new scenes and content will be added throughout the season. Utilizing portable Virtual Reality headsets, the D-backs and Cox will expand the VR Bullpen footprint and showcase the content in other areas of the ballpark during the season, as well as off-site events at Cox locations.
Limited tickets are still available for Opening Day on April 2 and can be purchased by calling 602.514.8400 or online at dbacks.com.
