AZ education system

Chalkboard

On the evening of Feb. 24, at the Phoenix Field Office, the Arizona chapter of Americans for Prosperity Foundation will host a free dinner and policy talk about education reform. This event, the first in a series of monthly “It’s Working Arizona” policy events, will feature Dr. Matt Ladner, Senior Research Fellow with the Charles Koch Institute.

You wouldn’t know it from reading or watching our local news media, but Arizona is actually doing very well on several indicators of student performance. According to the Urban Institute, a progressive think tank, Arizona ranked 13th best in the nation in educational performance in 2015, when adjusting test scores for demographic factors, including the difficulty of teaching students whose families do not speak English at home. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, Arizona students have lead the nation in overall math and reading gains since 2009.

To learn more about what’s working in Arizona and how we can continue to improve our education system, please join us on Friday, February 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at our Phoenix Field Office at 3835 N. 32nd Street, Suite 7, Phoenix, AZ 85018. Buffet dinner is included, and this event is “free of charge” (since we dabble in economics, we prefer the term unpriced).
