Carefree Christmas Festival preview evening Thursday, December 1 from 6 – 8 p.m.
Celebrate the holidays in southwest style at the 9th annual Carefree Christmas Festival, December 9 – December 11, 2016. This FREE event offers a winter wonderland experience in scenic Carefree, Arizona.
Spectators crowd the streets for the APS Electric Light Parade’s vibrant, decorated floats and evening firework display. A Kid’s Zone provides entertainment for all ages, including 35 tons of real snow, a snow slide, Santa’s Grotto, train rides, and other amusements.
All activities are centrally located in the Carefree Desert Gardens, 101 Easy St., from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a .m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The four-acre desert botanical gardens provide a stunning backdrop for the event. The winding paths showcase thousands of exotic plants and cacti that are illuminated for the festivities.
Inviting all friends and neighbors to come down to the Carefree Desert Gardens and get into the holiday spirit with a free Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 1 from 6 – 8 p.m. to preview the upcoming 9th Annual Carefree Christmas Festival.
Listen to choirs and soloists from our local school district, performing holiday classics at the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Visit with Santa, take a carriage ride along Easy Street, take a sneak peak at Parade entries, Foothills Animal Rescue adoptions and stroll the beautifully lighted winter wonderland of the 4-acre botanical gardens.
