In a time when so many in politics are finding fault with “the system,” folks in Cave Creek have one clear advantage.
In the 2016 Town Council primary election, the voters in Cave Creek have an outstanding candidate in Tom McGuire.
Tom is the kind of man who has learned to approach the issues of our town with caution and an open mind. He is quick to seek out information, slow to be frustrated and always respectful.
During the recent forum, Tom was at his best. He clearly understood the questions being asked and was able to add insight to his response based on his deep understanding of the context surrounding the issue and question. There is no bluff and bluster with Mr. McGuire; he approaches questions with respect for the questioner, respect for the question and his desire to respond with an honest and complete answer. And, if he doesn’t have an informed response to offer, he doesn’t make things up.
Tom has shown a lasting and honest effort in his service to Cave Creek. From the famous “card draw” to his calming service during the tumult of a caustic election, and energized recall process, Mr. McGuire stayed the course of looking at issues, seeking solutions and voicing clear and understandable opinions. No grandstanding for Mr. McGuire. He has remained humble, straightforward and always “on the job.”
As you mark your ballot in the coming weeks, I urge you to place a mark for Tom.
Our town has some interesting challenges ahead. We will all benefit when Mr. McGuire again takes his seat on the Cave Creek Town Council.
