Russell Pearce endorses Mark Freeman for Mesa City Council District 1

I am proud to announce my endorsement of Mark Freeman for Mesa City Council District 1.

I have known Mark and his family for decades. They are a farming family used to hard work, down to earth ideals and conservatism. Mark’s roots go deep. His ancestor Charles Crismon was one of the founding fathers of Mesa. They have farmed in the valley since 1878. He currently farms the property at Brown and Center Street in Mesa, growing alfalfa, sweet corn and doing a summer farmer’s market for 34 years, providing jobs for neighborhood youth, teaching them about honesty, hard work and customer service. He has been involved with the Maricopa County and Arizona Farm Bureau Organizations for years, serving as 1st Vice President of Maricopa County Farm Bureau and Board Member at Arizona Farm Bureau.

Mark worked for the Mesa Fire & Medical Department for 31 years as a Captain Paramedic, retiring 5 years ago. He has a great love and passion for our city, our neighborhoods and community. Mesa needs strong leadership. Mark will not be afraid to express his opinion on matters relating to each of us as residents. He listens to his constituents and makes pragmatic decisions. He has had the opportunity to work in our neighborhoods as a firefighter and has extended that service to community involvement, serving on the Mesa Board of Adjustment. He has also served in the Lehi area as Board President for 12 years, helping neighbors work out disagreements and coming to an amicable solution.

Mark has been involved in grass root politics, providing community input to our local leadership over many years. Mark wants the office to be transparent so any person in the community can come forward with a concern and reach out to their councilmember and get results. He also believes strong neighborhoods build a better Mesa and elevates our future. The Constitution is the basis for his decision making process. He is a man of faith and character and is actively involved in his church and leadership responsibilities.

Mark has lived in Mesa for 61 years. He and his wife LeeAnn have been married for 38 years and have a strong family value, with great love for their 3 children and 8 grandchildren. His oldest son is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain. Their other children reside in Mesa.

Mark has recently received the endorsements of Arizona Police Association and the Professional Firefighters of Arizona (PFFA).

Sincerely,

Russell Pearce
