Air Canada to unveil nonstop flights between Montreal, Phoenix

Air Canada, which already offers connecting service between Montreal and Phoenix, said it will start nonstop flights between the two cities early next year.

The seasonal service through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will run from Feb. 22, 2018, through May 28, 2018. Canada’s largest airline, which serves 57 airports in the U.S., said it’s now selling tickets for the nonstop flights.

Air Canada also announced new winter-season routes to Orlando, Belize, Australia, Peru and St. Vincent in the Caribbean. The Phoenix nonstop flights will operate three times a week and feature service on 136-seat Airbus A319 aircraft.

The nonstop flights, which could appeal to Canadian snowbirds, reflect increasing business ties between eastern Canada and Arizona. The Montreal flights also will expand Phoenix’s small number of nonstop routes to foreign destinations.

This isn’t the first time Air Canada has offered non-stop flights between Phoenix and Montreal. The airline offered seasonal weekend service in late 2010 and canceled it after one season.
