Scottsdale’s photo enforcement program will resume operation May 13

American Traffic Solutions, the city of Scottsdale’s photo enforcement system vendor, has received its Private Investigation Business License to comply with a new Arizona Attorney General’s opinion.

The city’s photo enforcement program was suspended while ATS completed that process. Now that they are in compliance, Scottsdale’s photo enforcement program will resume issuing citations beginning Friday, May 13.

Drivers may notice camera flashes while the system is being returned to service and tested, but citations will not be processed or issued until May 13.

The city of Scottsdale has used photo enforcement technology since 1996 to help reduce red-light running and speeding. The system comprises 18 fixed cameras at intersections and along city streets, two mobile speed-enforcement vans and two portable towers that are used exclusively in school zones.
