Nogales CBP Officers seize $2.75M in marijuana
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Mariposa Commercial Facility in Nogales, Arizona, seized $2.75 million in marijuana – approximately 5,500 pounds – from a Mexican national Feb. 24 when he attempted to enter the United States.

After an alert by a CBP narcotics-detection canine, officers found the drugs within palletized boxes identified as assorted electronic items in a tractor-trailer driven by a 29-year-old male driver from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

Officers seized the entire shipment and referred the subject to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

The seizure comes less than two weeks after a 17,000 pound marijuana seizure at the Port of Nogales, worth an estimated $8,500,000.

Nogales CBP Officers seize $90K in meth
Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican national for an alleged attempt to smuggle more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine, worth in excess of $90,000, through the Port of Nogales Feb. 24.

Officers at the Dennis DeConcini crossing referred a 52-year-old legal permanent resident alien living in Nogales, Arizona, for further inspection of her Ford SUV. During the search, officers located multiple meth packages in the back of the vehicle.

After seizing the vehicle and drugs, officers turned the subject over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

Nogales CBP Officers seize nearly $12K in marijuana
Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Rio Rico, Arizona man for an alleged attempt to smuggle approximately 23 pounds of marijuana, worth about $11,700, through the Port of Nogales Feb. 23.

Officers at the Dennis DeConcini crossing referred the 45-year-old man for further inspection of his Chevrolet truck when he attempted to enter the U.S. as a SENTRI cardholder. Officers searching the vehicle found two packages of marijuana within the truck’s bed.

In addition to revoking his Secure Electronic Network for Travelers for Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) privileges and seizing the vehicle and drugs, officers turned the subject over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
