Desert Foothills Theater Presents “Cabaret Night: The Soul of Broadway Holiday” on December 20 and 21

CAREFREE – Back by popular demand, Desert Foothills Theater (DFT), a division of the Foothills Community Foundation, presents “Cabaret Night: The Soul of Broadway Holiday” on Sunday and Monday, December 20 and 21 featuring uplifting gospel, Motown and spiritual versions of some of the holiday’s best-known music.

The 2014 Soul of Broadway Holiday Cabaret Night was so well-received that Desert Foothills Theater added a second night this year.

The group, under the leadership of Chanel Bragg and music direction of Gregg Temple, also includes acclaimed local talent Damon Bolling, Krystal Pope, Jacqueline Castillo, and Tyra Young.

“While many of the cabaret performers have appeared in Desert Foothills Theater’s productions, such as Dreamgirls and Hairspray, this is a rare chance to see them performing together in such an intimate setting,” said Chanel Bragg, one of the performers who last appeared on DFT's stage as Effie in Dreamgirls.

New to the DFT stage is Nathaniel Tenenbaum who is fresh off the Phoenix Theatre Stage from performing in The Toxic Avenger.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with appetizers at Venues Café, 34 Easy St., in Carefree, with the performance set for 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $40 per person and include a glass of wine, appetizers and the show. Proceeds from the performance benefit Desert Foothills Theater. For details or to reserve tickets, visit www.dftheater.org or call (480) 488-1981.
