Unprepared council loads up December meeting agenda

Vice Mayor Steve LaMar said if council wants to consider something it needs to have a packet with information

CAVE CREEK – Monday night’s Call to the Public brought Sandy Eppel to the podium after first distributing photographs to council.

Although she didn’t state what she was talking about, it became obvious when she recited her address on Echo Canyon Road that she was referring to CS Motor Sports and Christian Schulze, who had his home occupation permit revoked by the town amid numerous neighbor complaints.
She asked council, “Where are we on this?” and stated new vehicles were being brought on to the property.

Legislature studies law enforcement body camera use

PHOENIX – On Nov. 5, the Arizona State Legislature held the second in a series of study committee meetings to learn more about law enforcement’s use and the effectiveness of body cameras.

Jacob Young, assistant professor in the ASU School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, provided the findings from a Mesa Police Department field experiment on officer use of body cameras.

Carefree signs agreement to close Black Mountain Sewer, end litigation

Town adds $2 million to reserves while investing $10 million in infrastructure

CAREFREE – During the Nov. 10 council meeting, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Kip Rustenburg announced during Call to the Public that MCSO has a new Bell Ranger helicopter and if the town provides a date it can be brought up to show to the community.

Council stated it would take her up on that offer.
