Piano prodigy Eric Lu to open 2015 music performance series

Seventeen-year-old piano prodigy Eric Lu will open the 2015-16 Living Music Performance Series at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Carefree, with a 4 p.m. concert Saturday, Nov. 21.


Lu began studying piano at age 6. He has performed at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the famed Salle Cortot in Paris.

This past February, he won first place at the Ninth National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami. The prize includes $75,000 along with a concert tour in the U.S. and abroad.

In 2014, he received first prize at the Ninth Moscow International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists.

Tickets for the concert are $30 at the door, with reduced prices for advanced sales. Student tickets (with ID) are $15.
