Balloon experience • Slow down!

About 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 7 Shari Jo heard the loud blast of fire used to levitate a huge balloon, but not immediately recognizing the sound, went out to investigate. Shari Jo was able to get pictures of the balloon heading our way.

Scared, almost speechless

There is some very scary crap going o.n in this world, but the scariest to me is what is going on here, in America. We used to be the sanctuary from that scary stuff, the bastion of last resort. How quickly generations forget, or is it they never learned? Week after week, as I read your publication and assimilate information from other credible and even non-credible news outlets, it is clear to me that several dark forces are coming together at the weakest time in modern American history. We are facing a Perfect Storm, one which is hell-bent on destroying the fabric of American culture. Blaine Keith, like other veterans and true Americans across the country, is 100 percent correct. We have to do something very, very soon.

My 2015 Commencement Address

All manner of people are giving commencement speeches to students graduating from colleges and universities these days. It is doubtful any will be remembered because the prospects of students depend in large part on the economy into which they are entering, the majors they pursued, their individual ambitions, and capacity for hard work. Then, too, there’s dumb luck which often plays a role.

RX Baltimore

One of my favorite talk show hosts (and a former boss) has been talking about Baltimore recently and about poverty and racial problems in that historic city. Bill Bennett noted that he visited an elementary school in Baltimore when he was Secretary of Education in the Reagan
Administration (1985-88). I served in the Education Department in those years.

Immigration Shutdown Now!—This heart within me burns

Part 6: Bird life on Midway Island in the Pacific Ocean and the onslaught of plastics. Samuel Taylor Coleridge in his epic work The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.wrote, “Until my ghastly tale is told; this heart within me burns.”

Please realize this series points out not only what we face as a civilization by adding 100,000,000 (million) legal immigrants in the next 30 years, but the underlying and unseen consequences.  We consume enormous amounts of water, energy and resources in 2015.  You now understand it as “overshoot” from Part 3 “Overshoot into the Future.”
