May is Stroke Awareness Month
May is Stroke Awareness Month, and the signs of stroke are “FAST” to learn:
F is for face. Have the person smile. If one side of the face droops call 9-1-1 immediately.
A is for arms. Ask the person to raise both arms. If one arm drifts downward, call 9-1-1 immediately.
S is for speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange? Call 911 immediately.
T is for time. Get them help immediately. Critical medication needs to be administered within three hours of the first sign of stroke.

Several Campgrounds north of Phoenix to close for the Summer
Some of the more remote sites on the Cave Creek Ranger District will close for the summer.  The following sites will be closed from May 15 to October 1, 2015: Mesquite Campground, Horseshoe Campground, and Fisherman Point (also known as Catfish Point). The Tonto National Forest does not currently have the ability to maintain these sites in a safe and sanitary condition.

Alternative sites for camping are Riverside Campground, Box Bar, Bartlett Flats, SB Cove and CCC campground. The trail to the river above Fisherman Point remains open, and the public can continue to fish along the river.
