A to Z Equipment Rentals & Sales to provide free recycling of Christmas trees

PHOENIX –For the 19th consecutive year, A to Z Equipment Rentals & Sales will be providing sites for residents to recycle their Christmas trees, free of charge.

In addition to the danger of leaving a Christmas tree in the home for an extended period of time, bringing the trees to A to Z for recycling saves landfill space and returns the composition of the tree to the earth where it can be reused. The trees are chipped into mulch. Uses for the mulch included moisture retention, fill material, odor control among other things.

Trees can be brought to one of A to Z's FOUR locations from Dec. 26 thru Jan. 3. Trees will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, except on Sunday Dec. 28 and on New Year’s Day when the stores will be closed, and only until noon on New Year's Eve.

The stores are located at 4050 E. Indian School Rd. (just east of 40th St. on the north side of Indian School Rd.), 15634 N. 32nd St. (3/4 mile south of Bell Rd. on the west side of 32nd St), 1313 E. Baseline Rd. (just east of Stapley on the south side of Baseline Rd.), and the newest location in the West Valley at the corner of Dysart and Van Buren in Avondale at 803 E. Van Buren.

Only 1 tree per family will be accepted and decorations and tree stands should be removed. A to Z is once again a partner with the Phoenix Recycles Office of the City of Phoenix, the Phoenix Public Works Dept., the Town of Gilbert, and now the City of Avondale.

The City of Phoenix will accept trees at various city parks as well; check the city's website for a list of parks.
