“Alli Ortega Empty Bowls” event fills gaps in fight against hunger
Enjoy a meal and help fight hunger in our community. When you buy a bowl of pasta at the “Alli Ortega Empty Bowls” event Wednesday, Dec. 3, proceeds benefit the Vista del Camino Food Bank. The event takes place in the Scottsdale Community College Cafeteria and Student Center, 9000 E. Chaparral Road. Bowls bought from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. include a modest serving of pasta or soup prepared by the college’s Culinary Department and donated by the school’s Center for Civic and Global Engagement. Bowls will be for sale through 6 p.m.

Empty Bowls 2014 commemorates Alli Ortega, a longtime city of Scottsdale employee and Empty Bowls volunteer, who passed away earlier this year. Her selfless dedication to the community and her spirit of volunteerism continue to inspire. For more information on the Empty Bowls project, visit www.emptybowls.net.
