SCOTTSDALE – The Y wants to give back to those who dedicate themselves to serving our country.  In recognition of Veterans Day, the Desert Foothills Family YMCA (DFFY) is opening their doors to military personnel November 10-16 with no guest fees and complimentary access to their one-hour boot camp classes.   Boot camp classes run Monday & Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.  For more information visit http://valleyymca.org/location/desert-foothills-family-ymca/.

DFFY currently serves 175 military families and in 2014 has provided over $50,000 in membership subsidy to help these families have access to youth development, family strengthening, and health and well-being programs.  Donations are an important resource to help the branch continue to serve this important group.  Donations can be made at http://valleyymca.org/about-your-y/support-your-y/donate/

The YMCA is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility.  The YMCA believes that lasting personal and social change can only come about when everyone works together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why at the Y, strengthening community is our cause.
