Desert Foothills Theater presents “Anything Goes” Nov. 14 - 23

Jake Ulmer Earns Eagle Scout Award

CAVE CREEK – After twelve years in scouting, Jake Ulmer of Boy Scout Troop 15, chartered by St Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Cave Creek, reached a lifetime goal by earning the rank of Eagle Scout. The final step in the process was his Eagle project, which involved building 1,200 feet of log fencing to protect critical elk habitat in the Coconino National Forest of northern Arizona.

Jamie Gallagher and Douglas Canning announce engagement

Jamie Gallagher, a computer scientist from Ridgecrest, California, is to be married to Douglas Canning, a physicist and Boeing employee from California City, California. Ms. Gallagher is the daughter of Jeffrey Greer of Kingman and Cave Creek, Arizona. Mr. Canning is the son of Arlette Canning of Wilmington, North Carolina. A November wedding is planned.

Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center seeks donor sponsors for families

CAVE CREEK – The Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center seeks donors to brighten the holiday season for children, families and seniors in the northern Arizona foothills community. The food bank is working with more than a dozen local organizations and churches to provide gifts, holiday meals and hope for those in crisis in the community. The 12th annual Adopt-a-Family program will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Holland Community Center in north Scottsdale. A second site for Black Canyon City residents will be held on Saturday, December 13 at High Desert Park.
