Scottsdale Senior Services teams with non-profits to help with transportation resources

Bookmark and Share

Scottsdale Senior Services has recently partnered with two area non-profit organizations to help build capacity and awareness for existing transportation resources. Duet, Partners in Health & Aging and Foothills Caring Corp both provide a wide range of services to help older adults manage challenges related to aging. In addition to providing a diverse collection of valuable services, both organizations match volunteers with homebound seniors for things like getting to the doctor or grocery shopping. Services are free.

Volunteer opportunities are available and you can make a significant difference in the life of someone in your neighborhood. Duet and Foothills Caring Corp volunteers are paired with an isolated person who needs a bit of help or friendship. Spend one-two hours per week or month providing rides to grocery stores, medical appointments or just friendly visiting.

If you are interested in volunteering and you live south of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, register for an upcoming Duet volunteer orientation by calling 602-274-5022 or visiting www.duetaz.org.

Those interested in volunteer opportunities who live north of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard should call Foothills Caring Corp at 480-488-1105 or visit www.foothillscaringcorps.com to register for an upcoming orientation.
