A musical tribute to Jazz-Rock fusion

Saturday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m.
PVCC CPA Mainstage
Featuring the Union32 Jazz All-Stars

Bracketed, in many ways, by Miles Davis' "Bitches Brew" in 1970 and the Pat Metheny Group's "American Garage" at the end of the decade, jazz-rock fusion was an important movement in both the jazz and rock worlds. Blending the intricacy and improvisation of jazz with the earnest, direct vibe of rock, the style was an important crossover of influences that shapes many bands active today. Along with Davis and Metheny, the Union32 Jazz All-Stars will highlight the music of Weather Report, Return to Forever, and The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Tickets from $6-$12. Additional $4 ticket fee at the door 1 hour prior to performance. To purchase tickets visit www.paradisevalley.edu/cpa/cpa-tickets.
