Scottsdale City council elections

Scottsdale City council elections are coming up shortly and the Coalition of Greater Scottsdale (COGS) is holding two candidate forums you may want to attend. Details are below. Even more important is to make sure you are registered to vote and if you vote by mail that you get a ballot in the mail. For the upcoming primary elections, which also include the city council election, if you are an independent, you have to request a ballot using the card mailed to you. A notice on that is also at the end of the GOGS announcement. Sorry for the length of this message, but there is a lot to pass on and the city council election is crucial to the future of our city.

DATES:

Wednesday, June 25 Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 North Granite Reef Rd (NW corner McDowell Rd/Granite Reef)

Thursday, June 26 Via Linda Senior Center, 10440 Via Linda Drive (south of Shea on 104th)

TIMES:

6:30 p.m. All candidates will have information tables around the perimeter of the room to meet and chat with you personally. At your seat you will find 3 X 5 cards on which to write your questions. You may address all or a particular candidate with your question. They will be collected and organized by topic for the moderator to ask. Unfortunately, neither senior center will allow them to stay after 8:30 p.m. and they want to get through as many audience questions as possible.

7 – 8:30 p.m. Forum begins with Moderator, Christopher Schaffner, member of the COGS Board of Directors.
