MusicaNova announces 2014-15 season

Innovative Orchestra to present masterpieces of Elgar, Rimsky-Korsakov, Schumann, and Tchaikovsky alongside new compositions and a World Premiere

PHOENIX – With a committed passion to perform jewels of new and undiscovered classical music, MusicaNova announces its 2014-15 season.  The year's highlights include two stunning soloists, Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt (viola) and Katrina Jia (piano) as well as a collaboration with The Paradise Winds.  The 2014-15 season includes the world premiere of a new piece composed by ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award Winner and Juilliard prodigy Graham Cohen, hosted by SiriusXM's Martin Goldsmith, and new works from the MusicaNova Composition Fellows Program. 

Tickets are $20 adults/$15 students and seniors, and are on sale now at www.musicanovaaz.com.  Youth under 18 are free with a paid admission.

• New Work by a MusicaNova Composition Fellow Graham Cohen: "Unexpected Affinities" a Concerto Grosso for Reed Quintet and String Orchestra, commissioned by the Selznick Tikkun Olam Foundation in memory of Holocaust survivors Max and Nina Gurin, with the Paradise Winds (World Premiere)
• Special appearance by Martin Goldsmith, noted author and classical music radio host on SiriusXM and NPR
• Franz Schreker: Chamber Symphony
