Trenk anti-recall mailer

The recent direct mail card from Mr. Trenk puts on full display his immaturity, propensity to spend other people’s money, fear of the recall, willingness to tell the "big lie" and the slate's overall campaign theme of "us versus Sonoran News."
Unfortunately for the slate, they will not be running against the former town manager and Sonoran News this time around. This time they will be running on their record of poor judgment, vengeance and irresponsibly to the voters of Cave Creek. This time they will be forced to face the truth.

Long-term Cave Creek citizens group files recall to establish accountability

Cave Creek Caring Citizens, a political action committee (PAC) for the purpose of circulating recall petitions, has been formed by Susan Clancy and Hani Saba. The purpose of the citizen committee is to recall four newly elected councilmen referred to locally as the slate (Trenk, Durkin, Monachino & Spitzer).

The 4-C’s cites seven reasons why Cave Creek needs a new council:

1. Rodney Glassman and Vice Mayor Adam Trenk ripped off Creekers for $90,000. These four councilmen are not qualified to hold office after hiring Trenk’s friend with no experience to run the town.

2. The Slate said the $17,000,000 budget was too big. These four councilmen either misled or lied to the voters. They said the budget and debt were too large while campaigning. Once elected, they passed the previous council’s budget without a single cut or change.

3. $80,000 wasted on road maintenance software to nowhere. Apparently Glassman’s $500 per month in mileage was not adequate to include driving around to figure out what roads need to be graded or repaired.

4. $20,000 wasted on stainless steel horse signs. Does the town really need to spend money on oversized hood ornaments? You decide.

5. $3 million employment lawsuit. Vice Mayor Adam Trenk and his three confidants fired the long-term town manager and informed citizens in an e-mail that the town was safe from litigation. The town is now spending thousands in legal fees and has exposed residents to a multi-million lawsuit.

6. Wasting taxpayer $$$ on public relations stunts and self-congratulating newsletters. Scottsdale threatened litigation when these four tried to steal their federally registered trademark – “The West’s Most Western Town.” Next they stole “Where the Wild West Lives” from Deadwood.

7. Cave Creek Trail System and General Plan Abandoned: The slate is working to disrupt 28-years of hard work by volunteer citizens as a payback to those that supported their fraudulent campaign.

The cost of our military

The United States' military is funded at such a high level that it is a real and heavy burden on our people. By spending less on wars and war preparedness, we can make our country a more civilized society. Jeff Flake and John McCain should throw their support behind reductions in the Pentagon's funding.

Man's best friend

Greetings Fellow Creekers,
I recently re-located from the Mid-West for the usual reasons: crime, congestion, noise pollution, taxes, etc., etc. After several variations here, we finally found our 'dream home' in Red Dog Ranch. There are mountain views, clean air, friendly people and unique bars and shops. I have to kick myself! I never knew I was this smart! My family and friends are enduing below-zero wind chills and severe pelts of snow while I'm sitting by our cement pond with a cold drink in my hands. You would think it would be Utopia except one problem. There are dogs barking repeatedly for hours, day and night.

Having owned several dogs in the past, I know the various joys of owning a dog. They provide you friendship and protection. I also know the heartache and pain of losing them due to disease or natural death and returning home from the vet with just dog tags and a chain leash. This is a painful experience many of us have had.

In conclusion, let us all be neighborly and respectful of other people and their feelings so we can all enjoy the beautiful sights, smells, and sounds of this, in my opinion, Heaven on Earth.
Thanks.

Respectfully,

Douglas Gill

Dear Optimum and AOL Email users

Over the past several years TPATH has had almost 3,000 signups from people using AOL and Optimum. Because of the conservative nature of our website and emailed updates, many times a friend or a family member of a liberal, signs them up for our updates. I suppose the thought process behind that is if they see some conservative values, they may begin to look at things differently. I'm not sure that would ever happen. But who knows, maybe.

As a result of that, often times we get requests to be removed from our list. And unless the request comes with nasty, vulgar language, the deletion is immediately taken care of. The others will also be deleted but a response may be in order, first.

As a result, when we send out the thousands and thousands of emails for an update, we always get a few "kickbacks". We do our best to clear them from our list.

Recently, over a thousand of our last updates have been returned as spam. Since we don't sell anything and never include any of the very few ads which are on our website in any email, spam is something TPATH never deals in. So as we investigated we found that 99 percent of the kicked back emails came from Optimum and AOL subscribers. Then upon further review we found that a company called "Cloudmark" was blocking the email.

It appears that both AOL and Optimum have hired this company and they have been given the authority over what emails you are allowed to receive.

In other words, Cloudmark censors your email. They decide what you can receive in your inbox. And you never know what has been censored.

As of this point we have not been able to find out what criteria they use to censor what you receive. But they are doing it everyday and you have no idea what you are not getting. It's not clear if this Cloudmark company filters content or blocks certain email servers or both. But either way, this is an infringement on your right to receive information.

From what we can tell, Cloudmark has decided that Glenn Beck's email service [email protected] is spam. Or they may have been told it was spam or they just don't like Glenn's politics. Either way, this should not be allowed to stand.

Every email program has its own, very easy to use, filtering setting so the user can decide what he does and does not wish to receive. Apparently Optimum, AOL and Cloudmark seem to think they know best what you want and don't even feel they need to tell you that you are being censored.

This sounds like what Iran and China are doing.

Convention of States

Like a good many others, I feel that the Federal government is broken and is incapable of fixing itself. Washington D.C. has bankrupted us, seized State power, and stolen our liberty. Even good politicians are handcuffed by the burdens of bureaucracy.

I recently attended a meeting in Mesa, Arizona where Michael Farris, head of the Convention of States Project, was the keynote speaker. I came away tremendously enthused to think that there really might be a practical way to reverse the course of our nation’s governance.

There’s been quite a bit of talk about an Article V Convention of States lately, and rightly so. The Founders knew the Constitution might have to change. For this reason, they provided two ways Constitutional amendments can be proposed and ratified: first, through Congress and second, through the States.

Unfortunately, the federal government has departed from these prescribed amendment procedures. Instead of using one of these processes, Washington, primarily through the Supreme Court, has decided which parts of the Constitution need to be changed – or, as they call it, “interpreted.” Our government has interpreted specific constitutional clauses as “living” in order to advance its interests, a separation from the original charter of our national government.

It is logical to assume that Washington, D.C., will not limit its own power and bound its own jurisdiction. This is precisely why there are two paths to amend the Constitution. The second path – amendments through the states – assumes that elected federal officials do not align themselves with the will of the people. Recent Congressional approval ratings are around 9 percent; how clear can it be that they are operating on their own interests? It is time that the people of the United States of America act on their opinion of Congress. It is time that the scale of power be balanced and brought more in line with a civil society - where the individual has more authority over their own lives.

There is such an organization that believes in those same virtues. Citizens for Self-Governance is a national organization that has started a project to bring about the limitation of federal authority. The Convention of States Project has formed state leadership teams to energize citizens at the state level, and the great state of Arizona has a leadership team in place to spearhead this movement. To get involved visit our website, conventionofstates.com and our Facebook page, Facebook.com/conventionofstates. You can also contact Arizona’s COS state leadership at [email protected].

The true power lies with us - the greatest expression of human freedom, The United States of America, will persevere because together our country can be restored to glory. It starts in Arizona.

Speaker Boehner outed as Obama's Inside Man

John Boehner declared war against the Tea Party.

Publicly and privately, Speaker of the House, John Boehner is waging war on the Tea Party, conservative Republicans, and our values.
Speaker Boehner is solely responsible for:

• Continuing the funding of Obamacare and defeating Ted Cruz's efforts to defeat Obama's signature legislation;
• Doing Barack Obama's bidding by raising taxes;
• Cutting earned pensions for veterans and disabled vets, while protecting his own bloated pension;
• Further bankrupting America by raising the debt ceiling without any meaningful concessions;
• Single handedly passing signature legislation to massively increase the size, scope, and power of government;
• Agreeing to pass Amnesty for those illegal immigrants who have broken our laws; and
• Kicking courageous Tea Party congressman off of important, key House committees to remove conservative objections to his liberal policies.

Instead of partnering with Ted Cruz and Rand Paul to reform our government and put America back on the path to renewed greatness -- Speaker Boehner has chosen to curry favor with President Obama by cutting deals with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and sidling up to the liberal media -- all while stabbing Tea Party conservatives in the back.

It's time for John Boehner to go.

That's why today, your Tea Party Leadership Fund has announced our campaign to remove John Boehner from office.

The Tea Party Leadership Fund is working to collect 1 Million "Remove John Boehner" petitions.

You see, not only has John Boehner declared war on the Tea Party – he has declared war on you.

Boehner proved his true colors when he told you and the American people you have taken a "step over the line" for holding your elected representatives accountable for funding Obamacare, raising taxes, and bankrupting our nation.

In an even larger flare of arrogance, HE referred to your elected REPRESENTATIVES as "HIS" lawmakers.

That's why the Tea Party Leadership Fund has launched a petition calling for the removal of John Boehner from Congress. By collecting 1 million petition signers, we will show John Boehner, the liberal media, and every other congressional sell out that the Tea Party is serious about returning America to greatness.

Just imagine if we had a Republican Speaker of the House who challenged Barack Obama instead of capitulating. Imagine if we had a true leader like Ted Cruz or Rand Paul who stood up to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid instead of shrinking from a fight.

Can you imagine a conservative Speaker of the House who didn't cow-tow to the media and instead was an articulate spokesman for the principles of liberty?

Your Tea Party Leadership Fund is launching a 4-point action plan to ensure Speaker Boehner gets a Republican Primary and is removed from office. Our action plan includes:

• Massive Petition Effort to gain 1 million signatures nationwide to support a true conservative to primary John Boehner (more on that in a moment);
• interviewing and vetting potential candidates to assure that we endorse the most qualified, most conservative and most viable candidate that will truly make John Boehner "feel the heat";
• District-wide Phone Outreach to constituents educating them on Boehner's true record and the viable alternative who will soon emerge;
• Massive Online & Social Media Campaign that will help alert Republicans to Boehner's failed leadership and also identify supporters;
• Running Print, TV, Radio, Billboard and Internet ads within his district calling on a conservative leader to run against Boehner... letting them know they have the unequivocal support of conservatives across the nation that will provide the wind in their sails; and
• Engaging in a historic Get-out-the-vote effort during the Primary to ensure that conservatives' voices are heard on Election Day.

But, to reach out to more than a million grass roots conservative activists and enact our action plan, we urgently need your financial help as well.

Your immediate contribution could be the most important financial investment you will make to help return America to greatness. You'll be sending a loud and clear message not only to John Boehner, but also, all politicians – the American people aren't giving up.

In 2014, the most important action we can take, as liberty minded American citizens, is to oust Speaker John Boehner from Congress.

John Boehner has now become part of the problem, and he has to go.

Mission accomplished

It is amusing to watch the subservient sycophants with their serf mentalities attempt to defend John McCain, their political god, against the censure by the Arizona Republican Party. They even went so far as to try to depict my resignation as a protest to the passage of the censure. Au contraire, my resignation is better characterized as Mission Accomplished!

Thank you Cave Creek for 4,400 gifts to children

I’m writing to thank Cave Creek residents for their generosity in helping thousands of suffering children worldwide this Christmas. Through their efforts, we were able to collect 4,400 shoeboxes – filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items – for Operation Christmas Child, the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind. These simple gift-filled shoeboxes communicate to needy children that they are loved and not forgotten.

Although drop-off locations in Cave Creek are closed until November 2014, shoebox gifts can be packed any time. Gifts are received year-round at Samaritan’s Purse (801 Bamboo Road, Boone, N.C., 28607) or using the project’s online tool, where donors can virtually build a box. To get involved, visit samaritanspurse.org or call 303-745-9179.

Thanks again to everyone who participated in this project. A simple gift, packed with love, can communicate hope and transform the lives of children worldwide.

Sincerely,

Rick Hoover

Obama's MyRA – maybe, but retirees beware

Every American needs to save more money. Millions of Americans are struggling in retirement part-time jobs to keep food on the table. Fast food restaurants are filled with American seniors working for minimum wage in order to survive.

Every dollar put toward retirement will eventually be needed for shelter, food and medical expenses. Each year millions of people live longer than the money they had saved for retirement lasts.

President Obama has an idea with a new government backed IRA account called MyRA that will encourage all Americans to contribute up to 15,000 a year. The contributions would not be tax deductible but like a Roth IRA the interest would be tax-free. Contributions can be as low as $25 to start and people earning up to $191,000 a year may contribute through their employers.
Savings can last as long as thirty years before being transferred to a private Roth IRA. Earnings on the savings will be the same as the federal employees Thrift Savings Plan - Government Securities Investment Fund. This fund earned 1.74 percent last year.
I'm glad for any safe and inexpensive way for Americans to save money.

Some things make me nervous.
• Our government handles our Social Security. Aging Americans are now waiting longer and longer to collect earned benefits. The funds really do not even exist. Every month our government robs Peter to pay Paul in order to keep the Social Security checks coming. Our government has mismanaged Social Security. Do we feel secure about this government run supplemental retirement plan?
• Our government is handling our medical coverage through Medicare, Medicaid and now the Affordable Care Act. Each year the government will need more and more of your money through taxes to keep all of this solvent. We are in a crisis already.
• Our infrastructure is hurting. Funds for American interstates, bridges, our national parks, research to find cures for cancer and other diseases is lean.
• Will this new savings plan and other ideas eventually eliminate the current military retirement plan? Is this a slick new way to eventually cut out the Federal retirement plan? Could this idea and other ideas eliminate our current Social Security? We need to at least beware. Our government is struggling to keep Federal, military and Social Security checks moving. I agree that all Americans need safe and accessible ways to save money. However, don't be blindsided by easy new programs that could eliminate what millions of Americans have already spent twenty to thirty years working toward.
