The hype western town

In keeping with their hype about “the west’s most western town” the Cave Creek mayor and council slate, which is everyone except Councilmen Ernie Bunch and Thomas McGuire, journeyed to a Scottsdale council meeting. They tried to get a slot to speak but were denied that so they got mouthy during call to the public. I have said before, and I’ll say again, this is about camouflaging themselves and creating a distraction from the disasters they have created.

US Congress should not raise the debt ceiling

The current US government shutdown is more or less an internal matter but debt default, being an international matter, will no doubt destroy the USA in every sense and not merely economically or with regard to its credibility. Bond Election

On November 5th, you be voting on either 4 or 5 bond questions in November, depending on where you live in the city. The 5th question has to do with water service in a small area of the city so it is unlikely you will see that one. The other 4 each have 5 to 14 specific projects lumped together as one question. There are questions for “Library and Community Services”, “Public Safety”, “Neighborhood Flood Control”,  and “Transportation, Streets, and Trails”. As usual, the council combined projects unlikely to get public support with some that the public will probably want in a single question, to entice you to vote for all the projects.

Think tanks measure global economic freedom … the U.S. declines

The significant efforts in recent years to measure economic freedom did not come from universities.  They came from think tanks. These efforts are a powerful proof that think tanks are an essential institution in civil society. More than that, the “freedom truths” they affirm are vital for the world and the United States. This is crucial information that we all need to know.
