ccmea information centerWhen vacationing, the first place we visit in a new town is the tourist information center. There, chipper workers behind the counter greet us and are eager to share information about their town and what it has to offer. We walk out with hands full of potential fun experiences and a little background on the town.

This type of friendly hospitality will, once again, be available in Cave Creek, thanks to over 20 Cave Creek residents who have already volunteered to represent the town at its information center. The goal is to have the center open weekends in October and full time during Cave Creek’s high season.

The Cave Creek Information Center is a little Western style building next to Suzanne’s Hot Stuff in Frontier Town. The center is the perfect place to enjoy the ambiance of the Ol' West with friends old and new, while meeting people from all over the world. The center’s jailhouse theme is a popular photo spot for visitors.

Stepping inside the little “jailhouse,” visitors are greeted with pleasant and helpful volunteers dressed in period clothes, a hospitable Western “howdy” or “hello” and provided details and brochures on local churches, restaurants, merchants, activities, trails and events.

Available for sale are beautiful Wild West Days posters by area cowboy artist Lance Headlee. Many of these posters are one-of-a-kind collectors' items.

The rebirth of Cave Creek’s eclectic downtown area is dependent upon tourist season. Smiling faces, attractive brochures and ready information will make a BIG difference in the coming months.

Local merchants are urged to frequently replenish brochure supplies so visitors can learn what they have to offer.

Cave Creek residents are encouraged to join the volunteer team for short and interesting shifts. It is truly a fun way to give back to the community with only a few extra hours per week. A variety of shifts and days are available and can fit into anyone’s schedule. Contact the [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering at the center.
