Wayne William Hennacy, Jr

wayne bill hennacyWayne William Hennacy, Jr., 84, of Cave Creek, Arizona died after a recently diagnosed lung cancer of 8 weeks, on August 21, 2013, at his beloved desert home. 

Wayne was born in Sharon, PA, March 1929, to Wayne, Sr., and Thelma Hennacy.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Alene.  He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School, Warren, Ohio, in 1945.  On September 8, 1951 he married Edith Reihard, of Champion, Ohio. 

Wayne (Bill) served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War, with the rank of corporal.  He attended trade school for 4 years and graduated as a journeyman in sheet metal.  Wayne was a proud member of local Union 359 for nearly 60 years.  Bill retired in 1991. 

Wayne and Edie had 3 children, Wayne (WIII), Rhonda, Colleen and two grandchildren, Shane and Erin.  The family moved to Arizona in 1963 and then moved to Cave Creek, Arizona in 1973.  Wayne was a dedicated family man and during retirement he and Edie, his wife, traveled across the country to visit their children. 

A private celebration of life for family was held on August 24 at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary.  Inurnment will be held at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix.  A public celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of the Valley, in honor of Wayne, at www.hov.org
