Arizona community activist receives Lifetime Achievement Award

PHOENIX100 Club of Arizona Founding Father Bill Shover will be presented with the Jason Schechterle Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to the Phoenix community and Arizona’s public safety at the 100 Club’s 7th Annual Jason Schechterle Scholarship Ball on September 28, 2013. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an outstanding person who has made exemplary contributions to their local community as well as the public safety community in Arizona.

Dog Days Of Summer Golf Classic to raise funds for Canine Companions For Independence, Sept. 20 at Troon North

SCOTTSDALE – The largest single fund raiser of the year for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a nonprofit organization providing highly trained assistance dogs to children and adults with disabilities and veterans for free, will bring together golfers and dog lovers at the Dog Days of Summer Golf Classic, Friday, Sept. 20 at Troon North Golf Club, 10320 E. Dynamite Blvd. in Scottsdale.

After the racetrack, what’s next?

After The Homestretch has been assuring ex-racehorses a promising future – new adoptive homes!

In less than 2 years they have rescued over 32 racehorses and placed 18 in new, adoptive homes.  In order to continue this work of resting, rehabbing and retraining, After The Homestretch needs a place to call home.  (They currently have 13 in our herd.)
