Richard Rodman Walsh, 86, of Scottsdale, AZ went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Sunrise Senior Living of Scottsdale.  A funeral service will celebrate his life on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:00am at Christ Anglican Church, 35500 N. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, AZ 85331.  Military Interment will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ.  Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois to William and Martha Walsh.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Ann (Freevol) Walsh, their three daughters Barbara, JoNell, and Marcia, three grandchildren Abigail, Sean and Brynn, and one great grandchild Eleanore.  Richard served his country during WWII in the Army Air Force and was later discharged as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.  He was a graduate of Iowa State University in Mechanical Engineering and also earned a Masters in Engineering.  During his career in engineering, he held several positions one of which was with the Air Force and retired after 20 years of service as an Energy Engineer in the Installations and Logistics Department Facilities and Services Division HQ Marine Corps, Washington, D.C.  Richard and Barbara moved to Cave Creek, Arizona in 2004.  He was proud of his service to his country, accomplishments and loving family.  In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation in his memory to the American Lung Association.
