April foreclosure filings in Maricopa County increase
EUGENE, Ore. – Maricopa County single-family notice of trustee sale (NOS) filings increased by less than 100 in April as compared to March and February, according to Gorilla Capital.
April NOS filings jumped to 1,536 from 1,443 in March and 1,466 in February. There were 3,707 NOS filings in April 2012 and 3,575 in 2011, or more than twice the number recorded during the same time period this year.
"Even with the slight uptick in NOS filings in April, Maricopa County housing market continues to heal,” said John Helmick, CEO of Gorilla Capital. "As the national employment outlook continues to improve, we expect NOS filings to continue to drop over the next few months.”
Since February 2009, Gorilla Capital operates in Maricopa County.
