CAVE CREEK – Desert Foothills Theater (DFT), a program of the Foothills Community Foundation, presents “Company” running Thurs., April 5 through Sun., April 14 in Cactus Shadows Fine Arts Center intimate Black Box Theatre, 33606 N. 60th Street, in North Scottsdale.

Directed by Darrell Spencer with musical direction by Daniel Kurek, “Company” is a musical comedy based on a book by George Furth. The original production in 1970 was nominated for a
then-unheard-of and subsequent record-setting 14 Tony Awards and won six.

The clashing sounds and pulsing rhythms of New York City underscore this landmark show with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, considered by many to have inaugurated the modern era of musical theater. An honest, witty, sophisticated look at relationships, “Company” is as contemporary and relevant as ever. It features a brilliant energetic score containing many of Stephen Sondheim's best-known songs (including "Another Hundred People," "The Ladies Who Lunch" and "Being Alive").

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sunday.Tickets range from $25-$30 for adults and $15-$18 for youth and students. Ticketing fees apply. Visit www.desertfoothillstheater.org or call 480-488-1981.
