Deserts of the world – Carefree Desert Gardens Seminar March 9

What do the following have in common: Royal Botanical Garden in Sydney, Australia; National Botanical Garden in Cairo, Egypt; Serengeti National Park, Kenya; Negev Desert Botanical Garden in Negev, Israel; La Campana National Park in Santiago, Chile and Baja California Desert in Mexico. These are but a few of the 20 deserts on the face of the globe that have been visited by Cesar Mazier, former Director of Horticulture for the Desert Botanical Garden.

Internationally recognized for his expertise in desert horticulture, Cesar has interacted on a technical, scientific, environmental, research and horticultural nature with botanical gardens and national parks throughout the world. Considered by many to be one of the leading experts, he has done intensive research and authored articles on the care of Saguaros and Boojums.

Fasten your seat belt for a whirlwind tour to some of the most amazing places on our planet! And closer to home, pick up some tips on caring for our beloved desert giants. On Saturday, March 9, 2013, The Carefree Desert Gardens is privileged to present Cesar Mazier, owner of Cesar Mazier Landscaping & Consulting, Inc., noted horticulturist, author and TV personality, and recipient of the prestigious Master of the Southwest by Phoenix Home and Garden Magazine in 2002.

The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run approximately until noon in the Town Council Chambers located in the U.S. Post Office Building, 100 Easy Street, Carefree. A $5 (or more) donation is appreciated to support these programs. For information call 480-488-3686. No passports required.
