Federal Court: Arizona taxpayers must continue to fund the abortion industry

Statement from Cathi Herrod, President of Center for Arizona Policy, on the Federal District Court’s decision to continue to force taxpayers to fund abortion in Arizona

“Arizona promotes and respects life. It’s why our state has been nationally recognized as a “Pro-life All Star” for our strides to protect women and preborn children from the dangerous and deadly practices of the abortion industry. This makes the decision from the Federal District Court all the more disheartening. Arizonans - at least for now - will be forced to continue to subsidize the abortion industry, despite the efforts of our elected leaders to prevent taxpayer dollars from funding organizations that destroy life in the name of “healthcare.”

Though we are disappointed, we are not defeated as this fight is far from over. Center for Arizona Policy will continue to work with our friends and allies across the state to uphold this law and protect Arizonans from being forced to fund abortion providers.”
