Learn about flood hazards and how to prevent them at Flood Talk 101

Learn if your property is in a floodplain and about the different types of flood hazards and solutions at a trio of upcoming meetings. The Flood Control District of Maricopa County, in conjunction with the cities of Scottsdale and Phoenix, is hosting Flood Talk 101. The agencies will present important information on why and where flooding occurs, how flooding hazards are identified and how the district manages flood risk. Three meeting times are available:

3 to 5 p.m. AND 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, both at Monterra at WestWorld, 16601 N. Pima Road,

6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Holland Community Center, 34250 N. 60th St., Building B.
