Cowpokes ‘n Little Folks new for Wild West Days Nov. 2-4

cowpolks lillte folksCAVE CREEK – Wild West Days, Arizona’s largest western venue and a Cave Creek signature event, will feature an exciting new activity area, along with the Gun Down by Sundown, for children and families. Cowpokes ‘n Little Folks, which will be located on the west lot of Frontier Town in downtown Cave Creek, will offer ongoing activities for kids age three to 12.

Wild West Days and the Gun Down by Sundown will be held from November 2-4, 2012 throughout the Town of Cave Creek. The three-day features non-stop family entertainment, mutton bustin’, a period costume competition, musical performers, period vendors, a western parade the Walk for 100 benefit, bathtub races, Miss Wild West Days and various horse-related activities and other festivities have made Wild West Days a renowned annual western experience.

Gun Down:
9 a.m.: Parade
11 a.m.: Adult period costume competition/awards on west lot of Frontier Town
12 p.m.: Gunfight performances begin and continue through 5 p.m. (begin with Muleskinners)
6 p.m.: Six Gun Justice Gunfighters perform on set

Cowpokes & Little Folks:
11 a.m.: Cowpokes area open for kids and families
  -Gold panning all day
  -Shooting gallery all day
11:00-11:45 a.m.: Annabel shows you how to guitar
12 p.m.: Storytelling
1-1:45 p.m.: Sing with Annabel
2 p.m.: The Prescott Regulators and their Shady Ladies perform
2:30 p.m.: Bad Dog Bennett and the Blue Eyed Jack show
3 p.m.: Detour Company performs

7:30 a.m.: Gunfighter/vendor breakfast at Oak’s

12 p.m.: Kid’s costume competition on west lot of Frontier Town (and awards)
1 p.m.: Gunfights resume
3:30 p.m.: Centennial show featuring the gunfighter groups
4 p.m.: Awards ceremony
