CAVE CREEK – Summer fun is over and it's time to get you, and your pooch, back into a routine. This Saturday, Sept. 22, only, Tara Mulliniks-Dieckhoner, owner of Desert Dog Spa Pet Grooming, is offering free nail trimming to both old and new customers. "We are doing it at no charge, but if people want to give something, all funds will be donated to the Arizona Humane Society."

"I'm looking to hire an experienced dog groomer," she explained, "as well as an after-school helper to answer phones, set appointments and tidy up." If interested, stop by the shop at 6554 E. Cave Creek Rd.

After five years, Desert Dog Spa continues to evolve. A new line of toys is being introduced as well as more collars and accessories being added. For grooming, dogs (cats are welcome Sundays by appt.) will be adorned in the latest fall fashion colors - bows for girls, bandanas for boys!

Remember to book a week in advance for grooming, and Mulliniks-Dieckhoner offers a tip if you must rinse your pup before loading him into the car. "Always brush out the fur before washing. Otherwise, mats get closer to the skin and make it not only harder to groom but can often add to the cost." Of course, washing before a Desert Dog Spa treatment is a like cleaning before the maid shows up, but if you must protect your upholstery, brush out first.

At Desert Dog Spa, they love pets, they appreciate your business and they look forward to fulfilling your grooming needs Tues. through Sat., 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Set an appointment by calling 480-595-2231 and find them next to Dairy Queen.
