Drew Bernhardt declares candidacy for Mayor of Scottsdale

drew bernhartSCOTTSDALE – Small business owner and Marine Corps combat veteran Drew Bernhardt recently announced he is running for Mayor of Scottsdale.

“My first priority as mayor is to bring jobs and new businesses to Scottsdale - to help our neighbors get back to work and fill the vacant commercial buildings throughout the city.  I will listen to our citizens and together we will develop a general plan that preserves our wide open spaces and protects our image as the West’s most Western town”.

“In these challenging economic times, it’s critical that we work together to create a bold vision for our future that includes smart growth in the areas of healthcare, tourism, and new high tech businesses.  We need to reduce regulations and taxes, while ensuring that we are investing in the infrastructure necessary to protect our community and preserve our outstanding quality of life.”

“To be the best city in America, the unemployment and crime rates need to come down, and the number of new businesses and home values need to go up.  If we work together, our best days are still ahead!”

Drew Bernhardt, a combat veteran of Desert Storm, served on active duty for seven years as a United States Marine Corps officer.  For 17 years, he worked in the healthcare industry. Currently, he is the owner of a small business, Bernhardt Media LLC, with his wife Kathy.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Colorado and a MBA degree at Pepperdine University.

Drew and Kathy Bernhardt have two young boys, Dirk and Eric, and are proud to call Scottsdale their home.
