MARCH 7, 2012

Upcoming NR/DHCA Meeting

Tuesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The upcoming NR/DHCA Meeting features two special agenda items:
Special guest speaker will be Dr. Rodrigo Silva, Assistant County Manager for Community Collaboration and Director of the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Unit (MCACC).

NR-DHCA Board elections – nominations being accepted now. See below for eligibility requirements. To vote, you must be current on 2012 dues. See article below for more.

Dr. Silva will have information on MCACC services such as their Licensing, Adoptions, Rabies Vaccinations, Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (MC SNAP) and the Neuter Scooter. Let the New River/Desert Hills Community Association know if you have any specific MCACC questions or issues. MCACC's approach to delivering animal care and control services reflects the delicate balance that exists between animal welfare and animal control. They strive to be proactive and offer programs to prevent problems before they occur. MCACC's mission is to promote and protect the health, safety, and welfare of people and pets in Maricopa County.

Nominations for the NR/DHCA Board of Directors
If you, or someone you know, would be interested in joining the NR/DHCA Board of Directors, please contact President Alan Muller at 602-432-2800. Nominations may also be made at the meeting. To be eligible, a nominee must be a NR/DHCA member that is community-minded and over the age of 18 who is willing to serve a two year term, and is current on 2012 dues. Having new board members ensures that the NR/DHCA remains a fresh and vital volunteer organization and continues to have a relevant role to play in protecting and preserving our rural community. You or someone you know could help the NR/DHCA continue to be a resource for community news and collectively have a voice in the development and implementation of changes in laws, statutes, zoning ordinances and regulations that impact our homes, property values, neighborhoods, and rural lifestyle.

Reminder - To be a member with full benefits, the 2012 NR/DHCA Memberships fees ($20 per family) are due. Dues paid now are good until Dec. 31, 2012.

Come and let NR/DHCA know what issues you want NR/DHCA to address for our community and how you can help. Help NR/DHCA remain a fresh, vital, and relevant part of the community in their effort to preserve your rural community.

This is a FREE event. NR/DHCA invites everyone to attend. For more information, contact NR/DHCA at 602-432-2800, 602-525-0548. You may also find more information at www.nrdhca.org.
