CAVE CREEK – The temporarily named “Logan Lazy L Ranch” in Cave Creek is the filming location of the feature currently titled Saving Santa, which went into production Monday, November 28. Filming notices regarding brief road closure times were given to nearby residents on Monday.

This family film, scheduled for release in 2012, is described as being “in the vein of The Santa Clause and Miracle of 34th Street.” The world joins disgruntled Senator “Max Schmucker” in his campaign to ban the myth of Christmas.

Santa and his lead Elf Elliot are discovered after they are stranded on the Logan family ranch in a small farming community as they make their global rounds.

It’s a heartwarming story of the Logan children’s attempt to help Santa and Elliot, without their parents finding out.

The plot description on Facebook concludes: “Saving Santa is a sweet, funny, holiday story about the belief in love, goodness and the spirit of Christmas.”

Also starring in the film are Joey Lauren Adams, Kevin Pollak, Illeana Douglas, Caitlin Carmichael, Benjamin Stockhan, William Shockley, Mikey Post, Trace Adkins, Jay Demarcus and more!
