“Angels” help Foothills Food Bank meet huge demands

Adopt a family for Christmas

Foothills Food Bank Director Pam DePietro said food is still going out as fast as it comes in. We have a lot of neighbors still struggling.

The first Wednesday of each month is "senior day" at Fry’s, Bashas’ and Albertsons. And that means if any of us are over 55, we get 10 percent off on all the groceries we buy that day. For those of us who turn that savings into extra purchases for the Food Bank, we turn "senior day" into ANGEL DAY – Woo Hoo! So anything you can gather up in the form of canned goods and non-perishable dry goods will be greatly appreciated at the food bank.

You may drop off your donations at 6920 E. Cave Creek Rd. in Cave Creek. Please call 480-488-1145 for hours of operation.

The Rural Metro Fire Department Staff will be conducting a food drive for the food bank at Bashas’ on the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., another great way to help!

Over 400 families have little or no resources to put Christmas together for their kids, so we can help by adopting a family and shopping for gifts or giving money to the Food Bank where volunteers will get the gifts. The Food Bank volunteers will be putting together a party for these families to celebrate and collect the gifts we provide. You can imagine how much that might mean to struggling parents to be able to have at least one present for their kids.
