MCSO investigates suspicious death at Lord’s Cactus Farm

lords nurseryMaricopa County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Lord’s Cactus Farm, located at 412 E. Carefree Highway, at around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday to investigate what they called a suspicious death. Apparently, when an APS employee entered the property to read the meter, he found a 47-year-old member of the Lord family dead in front of the house. Preliminary autopsy results on Wednesday, however, did not reveal any signs of gunshots, stab wounds or other signs of foul play.

Bathtubs to speed down Cave Creek Road during Wild West Days

bathtub racesCAVE CREEK – Ever see grown men and women race to a finish line in decorated bathtubs? One of Wild West Days’ funkiest events, the bathtub races are a highlight of Arizona’s largest western event, which runs November 3-6.

During the race, to be held on Saturday, November 5 at 1 p.m. up to 12 bathtubs will make a mad dash to the finish line in stock tank modified tubs specially equipped to sprint down the center of Cave Creek Road. One person will serve as driver, the other as tub pusher. After the event, Miss Stock Tank will be on hand to give trophies to the winners.
